Translating Cube in Ljubljana – Reading: Literature and Politics

Ljubljana, Metelkova, Hostel Celica, April 18, 2015
6. 5. 2015

An evening with Katja Perat, Miklavž Komelj and Natalka Sniadanko and a concert of the a cappella band Jazzy.si

The last in the row of the events organised as part of the TransStar workshop in Ljubljana took place at the Metelkova alternative cultural centre. Natalka Sniadanko, a Ukranian author and translator, and the established Slovenian poets Katja Perat and Miklavž Komelj spoke about how they think literature and politics are intertwined by giving their own personal opinion on politics and current events. Natalka Sniadenko read a few pages from her novel Frau Müller hat nicht die Absicht mehr zu bezahlen, Katja Perat read her poem Dekonstruiraj me and Miklavž Komelj read a part of his poem Pismo od daleč.

The event was concluded by a Jazzy.si concert. In honour of the guests from Ukraine the band sang one Ukranian song.

Here some photos.
