Thursday, 25. 9. 2014, 9.00 -10.30: Introduction to literary translation in Croatia
On Thursday morning all participants of the TransStar workshops were warmly welcomed at the Faculty of humanities and social sciences in Zagreb. The introduction was made by the head of the Department of German studies, dr. Milka Car Prijić. This was followed by a presentation of the work of the Goethe-Institut (by Katrin Ostwald-Richter) and the Austrian cultural forum (by Georg Christian Lack) in Croatia and a vey interesting speech by Sead Muhamedagić (Croatian association of literary translators) about the life and working conditions of a literary translator. Finally, Roman Simić Bodrožić from the publishing house Fraktura talked about publishing and distributing literature in Croatia.
